Advanced And Infigo Software Team Up To Revolutionise Packaging

Infigo Software

Advanced and Infigo Software have formed the perfect partnership to revolutionise the packaging industry, offering a complete, automated digital packaging solution.

This unique solution allows you to digitally print up to 610 microns of Folding Box Board using a state-of-the-art software front end, a Xerox iGEN Digital Press, a Tresu Coater and a Kama Die Cutter all in one online automated solution.

Using Catfish web-to-print software, Printers, Converters and Brand Owners, will be able to make changes to packaging designs. And the workflow and ordering process will be simplified.

This allows more flexibility and significantly shortens the time taken to make changes, because it uses web-to-print technology to vary data on the packaging. For example variable pricing labels will be printed direct onto the package, rather than the costly task of additional labelling.

This shortens the time it takes to bring the variations to market, making the products themselves more adaptable to market demands and changes. It is a more cost effective way of adding value.

Adele Cable, Digital Printing Consultant of Advanced, said: “At present, Brand Owners are limited to lengthy runs of thousands of items, all with the same packaging. Using Catfish software and Xerox iGEN Digital Press, packages can be digitally printed to accommodate several variations, allowing a Brand Owner to track those variations and discover what works best with the consumer.”

“It is a fantastic way for Brand Owners to communicate with their customers directly and make it a two way communication with the use of QR codes.

“It also allows Brand Owners the ability to vary their products for a wide range of reasons, whether it be Security Tracking, Sustainability, Prototyping, Regionalisation of Packaging or Personalisation or simply to bring a special offering to market quicker.

“The reason this investment for a Converter is a very good one is that Packaging cannot be displaced by any form of technology, whereas for example Tablets replacing books with ibooks - so this is a solid long-term investment.”

Paul France, Principal Engineer for Printing and Decoration of Procter & Gamble, has been quoted in Packaging News (UK) as saying: “Anyone who wants to work with us should definitely buy a digital press, or they will find it an uphill struggle in the future.”

Douglas Gibson, managing director of Infigo Software Limited, added: “With our expertise we can help you to deliver a complete, successful digital packaging solution.”

Advanced Business Equipment and Infigo Software Limited will be sharing a stand at the Packaging Innovations Exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham on February 25-26.
