ASK Print in Suffolk first to use Catfish PhotoBooks for professional photography market
24 March 2014: ISL launches and demonstrates its new groundbreaking PhotoBook module for Catfish Web-to-Print on its stand at IPEX 2014.
The Catfish PhotoBooks module is fully optimised for mobile devices and is designed for enterprise level production. It can be used as a single module or can be combined with all the other features of Catfish to deliver an all encompassing solution such as variable data, email marketing and SMS and now PhotoBooks to drive a print business forward.
According to Douglas Gibson, MD of ISL, “Catfish is the first and only web-to-print platform that can cater for both the business-to-business and consumer market. Our new PhotoBooks module offers a fast and effective way for professional printers to enter the expanding and highly profitable PhotoBooks and photo-gift market.”
About Catfish PhotoBooks:
Easy set up – As with all other Catfish Web-to-Print modules, professional printers can create their PhotoBooks website to reflect the exact look and feel of their own corporate identities.
Works with all devices – Catfish PhotoBooks is built on HTML5 to ensure its compatibility with all leading touch-based devices, tablets and phones including Apple iPhones and iPads, and operates with all the latest internet browsers.
Full product options – A printer can create a PhotoBooks website to offer their chosen styles of products with any type of paper stock, finish or cover as well as other attributes such as gift packaging.
Dynamic pricing - The dynamic pricing configurations are easy for a printer to set up - so when a customer adds/remove pages, changes paper stock, or adds new attributes to their PhotoBook, the cost is automatically updated.
Complete design flexibility – Users can either follow pre-defined page templates or they can have full creative flexibility over the size, design and layout of their pages. Options are available for different combinations of images and text boxes with a choice of masks, boarders and corners.
No downloads – Catfish is completely cloud-based, so unlike other PhotoBooks on the market, there is no physical program to download.
Designed for fingers - The easy to use interface has been optimised for touch gestures – the buttons are large enough for fingers and designed for swipe and drag motions.
Easy access to photos – Users can upload their photos and imagery from a computer or phone as well as from any online image repository such as Facebook, Flip, Instagram, etc.
ASK Print using Catfish PhotoBooks:
Gary Keens, MD of ASK Print based in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk has been working with ISL for the past six months on the development of the new Catfish PhotoBook Software. His company specialises in photography print, producing high-end albums, PhotoBooks and calendars for the photographic industry.
“With ISL’s Catfish, we have moved all our products online,” says Gary. “We are working with ISL to provide a seamless service to photographers and their customers, completely white labelled using their brand with no sign of us in the background. This white labelled service allows our photography clients to sell our products using their photos all in their name. The solution ISL are developing with us will be unique to the photographic industry; no other provider I spoke to other than ISL was flexible enough and had the expertise to be able to fully develop this solution."
The full service will be available from www.PhotgraphyPrint.co.uk within the next month or so, with all online web-to-print capabilities already live on the site. Professional photographers will be able to fully customise the online storefront to mirror their own branding and offer high-end wedding books and albums as well as more standard photo books, canvases and photo gifts. The photographer simply uploads their images post-shoot and it is available immediately to their end customer to edit, create or purchase any product from a print through to an A3 photobook on titanium metallic paper.
Gary adds, "We chose to work with ISL because they are very similar to us. They are a very fluid organisation, quick to react to new market opportunities but with an in-depth knowledge of the print industry. ISL’s team has worked closely with us to develop our vision for the professional photographic market, tailoring Catfish to the needs of our customers. In contrast, other providers offered just a boxed solution with a ‘take it or leave it’ attitude.”
