At Infigo Software Limited, we have believed for a long time that our Catfish software has the potential to revolutionise packaging.
We attended the Packaging Innovations Exhibition earlier this year with Advanced Business Equipment convinced that the industry was ripe for change.
Now, Print Business magazine has reported how The Alexir Partnership has become the UK’s first carton printer to set up a digital print operation using our Catfish web-to-print softwareto link to customers for rapid alteration of artwork templates.
Advanced has supplied the Xerox iGen4 to the company’s Edenbridge factory to make this possible to produce its first commercial jobs in June.
Alexir, the carton converter, was talking about exactly these types of opportunities at the Packaging Innovations Exhibition, at which our sales director Andrew Tucker reported the industry was highly impressed with “game changing” possibilities.
Using our variable data web-to-print software, brand owners are able to engage with their customers directly by exploiting variable data opportunities, from personalising cartons to regionalisation, making packaging part of the sales and marketing process.
Print Business, a bi-monthly publication, reports that label printers might have adapted to digital printing, but carton printers have not embraced these opportunities until now.
The magazine’s article states that one of Alexir’s first projects using their new digital operation was to help a company which sells different types of olives produce short runs to launch into the United States market.
This is also something very close to our hearts, because we have also expanded into North America, in the knowledge that our software presents a global solution for printers looking to be more adaptable and produce shorter print runs, or to vary what they can produce during print runs.
We are delighted to have helped and look forward to assisting many more, in the UK and abroad.
At exhibitions in Canada and the United States this year, feedback we received demonstrated there is nothing like Catfish on the market today.
